Every child is gifted. One in four children are born with the gift of introversion, which is a different way of looking at the world and using the brain. Because most people in the world are not introverted, introversion is often misunderstood. Only one child in fifty grows up thinking that they are okay for being introverted and not broken. As a parent or a teacher, you can help. It has been proven, over and over, that support in the early years allows the introverted child to bloom.
The application includes four tests. One is a test for introversion synthesized from several tests for kids for two age groups. The test is ten questions, designed to be answered by an adult who knows the child. After taking this test, there is another test (again for both age groups) of thirty questions to determine the basic four temperament types of the introverted child. The test is designed visually, with a slider bar that will "weigh" the answers. So a person can answer "both" with a weight toward one preference. The test can be stored. Any number of tests can be stored, so you can evaluate an entire classroom of kids!
We did this so that you can compare different children or compare the test results of one child over time. Take the test with a child, you may learn something you didn't know about that child. Then you can go on to read about the different types. There are also two sections you can read aimed more at problems associated with introversion, such as shyness and shame; and a section on etiquette, or suggestions as to what introverts might like to see in interactions to support them and get along with who they are, not what you might want them to be. There is also a section that describes many books you can get on introversion as well as supportive web sites. These books were used to support the application.
Communication and understanding go miles to helping people work and play better. Raising a child to have high self-esteem means supporting the gifts they have. Introverted people have done wonders for our society. Help your child bloom; support the children in your class who can contribute in this special way.
